The VA offers Home Loan Guaranty Services training via online and video seminars. This training is designed for veterans, non-veteran house purchasers, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, and brokers in the mortgage industry who are interested in learning more about VA mortgage products and services.
This training is FREE for anyone to use and view, and can greatly enhance your VA mortgage experience, as you embark on a home purchase. Recent training includes seminars on Specially Adapted Housing. In November 2007, this training focused on an intensive explanation of the VA program that provides grants for veterans with service-related injuries for home purchase and home adaptation.
For instance, what can veterans do when a service-related injury leaves them unable to function in their own home? If a service-related injury requires a wheelchair, but the home is not wheelchair-adapted, the VA offers Specially Adapted Housing Grants to remodel the home—widening doorways, lowering counters, adapting bathrooms for greater ease of use—paid for via the VA.
